The Suite Room with Mountain View is the room people book to wake up somewhere that does not look like home. It is a genuinely spacious suite — bedroom and a well-defined living space — with large windows that put the hills of the Western Ghats squarely in front of you.

The view

Mountains fill the outlook from both the bedroom and the private balcony. Early risers get the best of it: in the cooler months mist sits in the folds of the hills at dawn and burns off through the morning. In the evening the light turns gold behind the ridge, which is the reason most guests end up taking their tea on the balcony rather than indoors.

The room

Elegant interiors, plush bedding and a king size bed, with room to move around rather than edge past your luggage. Air conditioning, free high-speed Wi-Fi, a mini fridge and an electric kettle, a wardrobe with a luggage rack, and an attached bathroom with hot water at any hour — useful when you are heading out before dawn for a trek or a wildlife safari.

Who it suits

Couples, families, and longer stays. The living space is what makes it work for more than two people, and it is the room we would suggest if you are travelling with children or planning to be at the resort for several days rather than one night.

Getting out and about

Ymoon Resorts is in Vellamunda, in the north of Wayanad district. Chembra Peak, Edakkal Caves, Soochipara Falls and the Tholpetty range of the Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary are all part of a normal itinerary from here, and we can help with directions, timings and arranging a driver.
