Kuruva Island

A protected river delta on the Kabini, made up of evergreen forest and quiet channels. Reached by raft, and closed during the monsoon when the river runs high.

Heritage

Edakkal Caves

Prehistoric rock carvings believed to be over 6,000 years old, depicting human figures, animals and symbols. A short trek up leads to wide views over the hills.

Trekking

Chembra Peak

The highest peak in Wayanad, best known for the heart-shaped lake on the way up which is said never to dry. The summit opens onto the Western Ghats in every direction.
